The following is the excerpt written for the Sea Maiden 5 Elizabeth art print:

Sir Edmund Roberts circumnavigation in pursuit of Sea Maidens took a detour when the Captain’s wife usurped command of the ship; her mutinous action in response to her husband’s “azure funk” triggered by the realization that his here-to-fore lost heirloom hat was in fact in the possession of the fabled pirate, Naughty Nat.

Ms. Fitzwillie ordered the H.M.S. Baci to “come about” without revictualling and proceed up the South American coast to seek out the pirate in his Caribbean haunts – particularly his fortified treasure cave on Norman Island. The well worn and half starved Bacis reached the Caribbean Sea in September of 1832 still commanded by the newly svelte Constance Daphne Fitzwillie

Sir Edmund Roberts took the opportunity to broaden the scope of his Sea Maiden quest and it was on a reconnoitering mission at Tortola that the entire launch crew witnessed a Sea Maiden on a palm lined beach. Caught by surprise, she snuck what the omni-present sailor Gnarly Dan referred to as the classic Sea Maiden pose of embarrassment. “They be as shy as they be beautiful; they was made that way.”

Sir Edmund Roberts’ notebook reads:

Eight of the crew watched her in awe as I sketched with commendable rapidity. Some jostling later occurred as the men attempted a consensus on her common name. To my chagrin, “Eager Elizabeth” of London popularity prevailed.

Maidenus Timidus

“Elizabeth, Eager”

September, 25, 1832

Brewers Bay, Tortola

Short of stature, Sandy Blonde. Slight build.

Very satisfied with our voyage. Captain’s wife, Constance Daphne has become uncomfortably alluring while Captain Fitzwillie himself is still blubbering about his hat.

There are many more sea maidens (mermaids), sea baby, pirates and sea masters prints available. Different characters and print sizes. Collect the series! This item will be sent flat via USPS 1st class mail or priority mail.
